I painted this in New Hampshire where I was captivated by the appearance of a charming gift shop on a village main street. It was decorated with an old fashioned bicycle out front, and colorful flowers. Could I represent the way the light slanted across the front of the shop? I set up my easel across the street and painted quickly, as usual, because the light was changing, changing! I didn’t have time to go in the shop to check out all the cool stuff. In my imagination it was fantastic, and I hope to go back one day.
