Light in the forest, by Alison C. Dibble, was painted out in the forest during the Covid19 lockdown in spring 2020, and completed in a single session. 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3 cm), in a simple white frame. Price ($500) includes shipping in the lower 48 states in the USA*.
The mossy understory in this spruce forest is one of the loveliest aspects of the habitat. Many greens! But this painting is actually about light, how it falls on the forest canopy, penetrates to the floor, and moves during the day. While I was painting this, the light changed. I had to pick a moment and let that be what the painting is about.
