The sight of vivid reflections in the morning stillness on the pond was worth our early start in Baxter State Park, Maine.
I with two artist friends camped in a rustic log cabin at Daicey Pond in Baxter State Park so that we could paint early in the day. We got up and had a quick breakfast, then went out to the dock and painted at the waterfront. The sun was just about to come over the ridge, the mountain air was crisp and clean, and the autumn leaves on the maples were like flames at the edge of the pond.
