I wanted to evoke the immensity of ancient ice that has broken off the glacier. The legacy of ancient snow storms is evident in the layers. Time and pressure from layers above have led to the distinctive blue color.
A distant mountain suggests this is not far from land. But an iceberg can turn suddenly. We wouldn’t want to climb up on this mound of ice. It draws me to it, yet it is remote and untouchable. If a single painting can say all that, then the magic is at work!
