First I thought about the way a glacier can break up into an area of deep fissures, and I found a few photos of this phenomenon that had been by others. Then I put all my resource materials away. I set about to call forth an emotion, could it be poignancy, or …regret? With hope, too. Could I convey emotion by contrasting the steep, slippery walls within the crevasse with the wavy vivid colors of the Aurora?
